Could An Unlevel RV Lead To Plumbing Problems?
When you first arrive at a campground or campsite, it is important to make sure that the RV is as level as possible. If the RV is not level, there can be issues with water drainage to the holding tanks.
An unlevel RV can lead to water backing up into the sinks and shower from the gray water holding tank. And if the blackwater holding tank is out of level, it may cause the holding tank sensors to read inaccurately and could potentially block the vent or back up into the toilet.

One of the easiest ways to ensure your RV is level is to place a ball on a centrally located table or countertop.

As you are leveling the RV, you can periodically check the location of the ball making sure that it does not roll in any direction. Additionally, using the cell phone leveling app can be very handy as well.

Pro Tip: The buttons on the sides of many phones will cause the phone to go out of level, placing a business card or two to make the phone level will help.
When you have a fully leveled RV, not only will the RV plumbing function as it is designed, it will also make it more comfortable for you and your guests to sleep in.
